About This Chart

   Minimize
This chart shows the state average percentage of students rated as Exceeds Standard or better for various grade levels on Reading and Math.  As noted on the main Student Achievement page, Kansas' definition of Meets Standard does not require full comprehension of reading grade-appropiate material, nor does it require students to usually perform accurately on all grade-level mathematics tasks or to have well-developed content knowledge.  These charts therefore more realistically reflect what many parents might consider proficiency on state assessment tests.  Math assessment tests were not given to 11th grade students in 2006, so that chart reflects a level of zero for 2006.  Select an option from the drop-down box below the chart to see results for 4th, 8th or 11th Grade.
